The Neuroscience Lab it an Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Centre initiative, which sees the IMT School as a scientific partner. The Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Centre is an Intesa Sanpaolo Group company dedicated to innovation, including outside the classic banking sphere. The Neuroscience Lab is located in Turin, but it collaborates with the researchers of the IMT School and of other scientific partners, both Italian and international.

The lab is dedicated to neuroscience applied research, to outreach activities to help spread awareness regarding neurosciences, to developing neuro-scientific models and innovative digital solutions to support company structures, both in the Intesa Sanpaolo Group and in client companies. Several organisational structures are present, with a focus on the followings domains:

  • Human Resources, education, inclusion and art
  • Health, security and wellness
  • Marketing and communication
  • Finance, insurances and wealth management
  • Climate and biodiversity

Since 2017, the IMT School has supported more than 30 applied research projects of the Neuroscience Lab by providing research labs and wearable instrumentation for behavioural and psychophysiological studies. This includes smartwatches and bracelets (which monitor heart rate, physical activity, skin conductance, sleep), electrophysiological bands (to record muscle activity, brain activity, respiration), smart glasses (for eye movements) and virtual reality headsets.
