Funding opportunities

The IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca offers a high-level, international, and multidisciplinary research environment aimed at addressing strategic issues and complex challenges through constant interaction with the scientific, economic, and social worlds, in order to drive the innovation our future needs.

The Office of Research and Knowledge Transfer assists researchers in identifying the most suitable calls for proposals to fund their ideas and offers personalized support throughout the entire project lifecycle: from the proposal phase through preparation, negotiation, and finalization of agreements.

We promote and highlight funding opportunities at the following levels:

European and International: EU framework programs (Horizon Europe, ERC, MSCA), international grants, and grants from private foundations.

National and Regional: ministerial projects (e.g., PRIN), applied research programs, and regional structural funds (ESF, ERDF).

To receive advice on planning timelines and resources, support in drafting the proposal, and to initiate internal submission procedures, we invite potentially interested researchers and faculty members to contact the Research Office.

The internal procedure requires authorization to submit the proposal via a rector’s decree. You will therefore need to provide the office with some basic information regarding the proposal to be submitted.

In compliance with Horizon Europe requirements, the IMT School actively promotes gender equality in research and innovation through the adoption of its Gender Equality Plan (GEP).

The School’s Gender Equality Plan is updated annually, included as an annex to the Integrated Activity and Organization Plan, and published in the “Transparent Administration” section.
