Admissions

Admission to the PhD programmes occurs through participation in the calls for applications issued by the IMT School around March/April of each year.

The complete open calls and participation methods are available at the following links.

You can participate in the competition if you possess:

  • A Master's or Specialist degree, pursuant to Italian Ministerial Decree (D.M.) No. 509 of November 3, 1999, and subsequent amendments, or a four-year or five-year degree obtained under the previous regulations, or a qualification obtained abroad and declared equivalent;
  • A qualification obtained abroad that has not yet been declared equivalent to the aforementioned qualifications, provided that it grants access to a PhD program in the country where it was obtained and is recognized as suitable by the Admissions Committee solely for the purpose of admission to the competition.

Knowledge of the English language is required, as all lessons are held in English. Certifications to prove this are not necessary; it will be sufficient to self-certify your level of knowledge by selecting one of the levels provided in the dedicated section of the online application form. The Selection Committee will verify the requirement during the admission interview.

Candidates who expect to obtain a valid academic qualification for admission by October 31st of the current year may also participate in the competition.
