Third Mission Quality

The School supports and plans strategies aimed at strengthening third mission activities in order to enhance scientific research and contribute to the policies and progress of the local, national and international community, including through actions aimed at the economic, social and cultural valorisation of knowledge.
To this end, in line with its mission, the IMT School:

  • Periodically disseminates its research results to interested parties in a clear, comprehensible and transparent manner in order to transfer knowledge and
    technology;
  • Takes part in a wide range of public engagement initiatives favouring the involvement of citizens, the development of the local territory and the
    strengthening of the social fabric;
  • Promotes the activation of scientific research and development agreements and collaborations with a wide range of companies and institutions;
  • Promotes relations between the world of research, the local community, educational institutions, non-profit organisations and businesses in order to
    actively participate in social, cultural and economic growth.

The IMT School implements a quality assurance process to guarantee the quality of the Third Mission that is based on the collection and analysis of data and indicators in order to identify possible critical issues and therefore to plan improvement actions.

  • The IMT School promotes the entrepreneurial use of research results in innovative contexts and the development of new products and services – and in particular the creation of “academic spin-offs”.

  • The IMT School has entered into agreements and conventions conducting research activities and participating in scientific collaborations with a wide range of Italian and international institutions.
