Research Quality
Research activity plays a major role for the IMT School and, together with teaching, contributes to the creation of an environment that stimulates creativity and productivity, helping to achieve the ultimate goal of the School’s educational and research activities: the advancement of knowledge and the creation of public value.
To this end, in line with its mission, the IMT School:
- Spreads a culture of merit and fair access to opportunities and values talent;
- Ensures the best conditions for academic staff and the student community to carry out research activities freely and unconditionally, while respecting ethical constraints;
- Supports the growth of less experienced female researchers in order to provide them with the tools to achieve scientific autonomy and maturity;
- Promotes the development of inter-, trans- and multidisciplinary collaborations;
- Promotes the principles of Open Access and Open Science;
- Promotes the internationalisation of research, fostering collaborations with other institutions and promoting the mobility of the scientific community;
- Intervenes through the adoption of active policies to eliminate gender or other imbalances that may affect the valorisation of merit;
- Enhances research activity through the dissemination of its results and the promotion of scientific culture.
The quality assurance system implemented to guarantee the quality of research is based on the collection and analysis of data and indicators with the aim of monitoring the status and regularity of research activities, establishing strategic objectives, identifying potential critical issues and planning improvement actions.
