Understanding Iran: Between domestic violence and international instability

The seminar, organized within the framework of action of Scholars at Risk, focuses on the twofold nature of the crisis currently unfolding in Iran: the domestic repression exercised by the Islamic Republic and the geopolitical tensions that are reshaping power balances in the Gulf region. Following a brief introduction to the socio-political environment of the Islamic Republic, the discussion will shift to the geopolitical context in order to provide participants with the basic tools needed to interpret current developments. The goal of the event is to collectively discuss these unfolding events, engage with the IMT community, and foster critical reflection within the IMT community.
