Outgoing students
After the first 12 months of the PhD Program, which are dedicated to coursework and seminars, IMT School students are encouraged to carry out a study, research or internship period abroad to enrich the internationality of their PhD Program further and to expand the network of their scientific contacts.

PhD students must participate in dedicated calls to obtain an Erasmus+ Student status. Beneficiaries of Erasmus+ scholarships maintain their eligibility for the scholarship increase for mobility periods abroad.
Erasmus+ for Traineeships is the most frequent type of Erasmus funding that IMT School doctoral students receive.
There are two Erasmus+ outgoing mobility calls each year: in February in partnership with the Talent at Work Consortium (traineeships only) and in October - the institutional call.
The Erasmus Talent at Work 2026 Call is now open.
Applications can be submitted here.
The deadline for submitting applications is 12:00 AM (Italian time) on 7 April 2026.
