Giulia Cavallone Award: Sara Lilli is the winner of the 2026 edition
Sara Lilli, a PhD student at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies and the IMT School of the National Doctoral Programme in Cybersecurity, has won the “Giulia Cavallone” award organised by the Piero Calamandrei Center for Legal Initiative.
Lilli was awarded the prize for the 2026 edition for her research project "Cybercrime and public-private cooperation: issues of criminal law and procedural law in cyber risk management". The study offers an innovative analysis of cybercrime and public-private cooperation, with a particular focus on the challenges of digital evidence and the balance between the effectiveness of criminal prosecution, cybersecurity and the protection of fundamental rights in an international context. The ultimate aim is to propose new guidelines for cybersecurity governance.
Thanks to the Award – which each year funds study visits abroad for Italian PhD students in the fields of law and criminal procedure – the PhD student will be able to carry out her research in both Spain and England, with a stay at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and another at the University of Liverpool.
