Networks the IMT School is a member of
L’European University Association (EUA) is a nonprofit organization established in 2001 by the merger between the Association of European Universities and the Confederation of European Union Rectors' Conferences. EUA aims to promote the development of a coherent system of education and research at the European level.
The EUA includes more than 800 universities from 48 countries and the National Rectors'. Conferences from more than 30 countries, representing universities in Europe.

In 2008 the European University Association (EUA) formed the EUA Council for Doctoral Education (EUA-CDE), which has led to the transformation and strengthening of doctoral education in the European context.
The EUA-CDE consists of 265 members working in doctoral education and research raining in 36 countries. EUA-CDE's members contribute to shaping the future doctoral education, including by disseminating the results of their activities.

Scholars at Risk (SAR) is an international network of universities founded in 1999 at the University of Chicago with current headquarters at New York University. SAR aims to promote academic freedom and protect scholars whose lives are in danger or whose work is severely compromised. SAR is part of the Network for Education and Academic Rights (NEAR) and the Scholars Rescue Fund (SRF) - Institute of International Education (IIE). SAR carries out three core activities: protection, advocacy, research, and training. SAR currently includes more than 500 higher education institutions in 40 countries around the world.
The Italian section of Scholars at Risk, Scholars at Risk Italy, was established on 19 February 2019. The affiliation of a university to the international network also implies the automatic inclusion in the Italian section.

Tour4Eu (Tuscan Organisation of Universities and Research for Europe) is a non-profit association under Belgian law, established in May 2018. Tour4Eu brings together the Region of Tuscany and the seven Tuscan universities (Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa, Scuola Superiore IMT Alti Studi Lucca, Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna of Pisa, University of Florence, University of Siena, University of Pisa and University per Stranieri of Siena) to promote the interests of the Tuscan research system to the EU, strengthen its internationalisation and increase its European projecting. Tour4Eu is part of UnILiON (Universities Informal Liaison Offices Network), an informal network of 50 Brussels-based liaison offices representing 156 universities from Europe, Japan and Russia. The network provides an arena for exchange where participants share information, promote collaboration and act as sources of information to the organisations represented.

Tuscany’s Universities is the Tuscan network of universities, which brings together the seven universities of Tuscany (Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa, IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca, Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna of Pisa, University of Florence, University of Pisa, University of Siena, and University for Foreigners of Siena).
The Network aims to activate joint actions to promote the teaching and research activities carried out in Tuscany abroad, mainly through participation in intergovernmental projects and international fairs. The Network is part of the Uni-Italia Association, set up in 2010 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of University and Research, the Italy-China Foundation, and the Ministry of the Interior. One of its aims is to promote university cooperation and cultural exchanges between Italy and other countries, particularly attracting students and researchers from abroad to Italian academic institutions.
