Knowledge Valorisation and Transfer

As part of the Third Mission – the commitment of universities to open up to the territory and enhance knowledge –, the IMT School has activated a network of collaborations with the territory and the business world.
Through the Research and Knowledge Transfer Office, the School provides for the valorisation of research results developed within projects by research groups and laboratories, the protection of Intellectual Property, the creation of spin-off companies and the organisation of events aimed at technology transfer.

The IMT School is among the universities and public research organisations in Tuscany that represent – within the national framework – points of reference and excellence in the field of scientific and technological research. In fact, the Region of Tuscany supports regional universities and public research organisations in strengthening their capacity to transfer research results to the market through the enhancement of technology transfer activities in the regional territory.
The IMT School also adheres to the Regional Technology Transfer Office (URTT) which, at the initiative of the Tuscany Region, groups together the universities in the Tuscan territory to promote collaboration with companies through scouting initiatives and the valorisation of patents and skills.

The IMT School is a member of Netval, the Network for the Valorisation of University Research.
