Type of contract

1 posizione Post Doctoral Fellow

Unità di Ricerca

  • DYSCO

Profile:

The researcher will carry out scientific activities consistent with the topics of the SSD (Settore Scientifico Disciplinare) in the field of optimization-based control of dynamical systems. Applicants must hold a Doctorate (or be close to completion) in Control Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or similar fields. A solid scientific background in automatic control, optimization, and/or applied mathematics for control is therefore required. By “close to completion”, it is intended that the thesis will have been submitted for examination at the time the application is made.  Expertise in one or more of the following topics will be considered particularly relevant: set-theoretic methods for control; robust and stochastic control; model predictive and optimal control; game-theoretic control;  algorithmic game theory; and numerical optimization methods with applications to control systems. Ability to collaborate with other areas of the School and with local, national, and international industrial organizations will be considered an advantage.

Activity:

The researcher will carry out research activities in the field of optimization-based control, contributing to the consolidation and development of the Systems Science scientific area of the School. The researcher is expected to contribute to the expansion of multidisciplinary collaborations within the School and to the strengthening of external collaborations with national and international research groups and industrial partners, thereby increasing the visibility of the School and its scientific and technological impact. The researcher will also contribute to the supervision of doctoral students and to doctoral training activities.
