The present and future of public administration take centre stage at the fourth Open IMT event

How is Italian public administration today and what will it look like in the coming years? Paolo Vicchiarello, Head of the Department for the Function of Public Administration at the Office of the Prime Minister, will answer this question as keynote speaker of the fourth event of the Open IMT series, the program of talks of the IMT School opened to the public.

The event, entitled "The Present and Future of Public Administration", is scheduled for Thursday 4 June 2026 at 3 pm in the Guinigi Chapel of the San Francesco Complex, home to the IMT School campus.

Vicchiarello will be joined in conversation by Gaetano Scognamiglio, President of the PROMO P.A. Foundation, Cristina Favilli, Prefect of Lucca, and the Mayor Mario Pardini. Hosting the event on behalf of the IMT School will be rector Lorenzo Casini and Maria Giusti, researcher in administrative law.

The event is organised by the IMT School in collaboration with IRPA and the PROMO P.A. Foundation, under the patronage of the Lucca City Council.

Admission is free, subject to availability.

Paolo Vicchiarello

As Head of the Department of Public Administration, Vicchiarello previously served as Coordinator of the PNRR Task Force within the same department. He has also held various roles within the Prime Minister’s Office and the Italian public administration, with a long career in parliamentary bodies and local authorities, having held management positions in both public and private organisations.
