PhD program in Economics, Analysis and Decision Sciences: six scholarships available
The IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca is launching a new call for applications for six PhD scholarships in Economics, Analytics and Decision Sciences (EADS), focusing on multidisciplinarity and interdisciplinarity as the key to managing complexity. The program aims to train experts in the analysis of decision-making processes and economic-social systems through a course of excellence that combines scientific rigour and a strong international projection, offering doctoral students the opportunity to obtain joint degrees with prestigious foreign partner universities.
The EADS program stands out for its cutting-edge methodology, which integrates statistics, data science, computer science and psychology, transforming doctoral students into experts capable of interpreting contemporary economic and social dynamics. The selection process is open to talented individuals from a wide range of disciplines — from economics to engineering, physics to cognitive science, and even the philosophy of science — provided they have solid quantitative skills.
Six doctoral scholarships are available, five of which are funded by the IMT School and one co-funded by the IMT School and the Toscana Life Sciences Foundation. Additional places may be added following funding from public or private entities. The programme, which will begin in November 2026, will last at least three years. Successful applicants will be entitled to a gross annual scholarship of approximately €16,000, free meals and accommodation in the Campus residence and other benefits reserved for students of the School. Applications are open until 3 June 2026.
