The IMT School has opened applications for the 42nd cycle of its PhD program in Cultural Systems. With a programme that brings together different disciplines, both humanistic and scientific, the PhD provides students with the cultural, methodological and instrumental skills necessary to analyse and manage complex cultural systems.

The program is developed within the "Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies" (CHMS) track, based on a strongly interdisciplinary approach. Courses and seminars will be held by IMT School professors and experts from Italian and foreign institutions. Lessons will take place in the classroom, but also in the field (museums, archaeological parks), through the collaboration of the IMT School with different cultural institutions. The aim of the programme is to open up career opportunities for IMT School students in academia, institutions, the creative industry, private companies and the cultural management system as a whole.

Six doctoral scholarships are available from the IMT School. Additional places may be added following funding from public or private entities. The program, which will begin in November 2026, has a duration of three years. Successful applicants will be entitled to a gross annual scholarship of approximately 16,000 euros, meals, accommodation in the campus residence and other benefits available to students of the IMT School. Applications are open until the 3rd of June 2026.
