Artificial Intelligence and Ethics: an event open to the public

On Friday, July 3rd, as part of the PhD diploma ceremony, will be held "'AI&Ethics", an event open to the public organized by the Student and Alumni Association (SAA) of the IMT School. The panel will open with institutional greetings from the rector of the IMT School, Lorenzo Casini, and will feature talks by Payal Arora, Professor of Inclusive AI Cultures at Utrecht University, and Dennis Nguyen, Senior Assistant Professor of Digital Literacy and Digital Methods at Utrecht University."

A round table discussion will follow, exploring topics such as the inclusiveness of artificial intelligence systems, the social costs of technologies developed without adequate oversight, and the opportunities offered by an ethical and responsible approach to innovation. Speakers will include Anna Pirri Valentini, Assistant Professor of Administrative Law at the IMT School, Alessandro Maserati, AI Director at Logol AG, and Fabio Michele Russo, PhD candidate at the IMT School.

The introduction and moderation will be led by Laura Gianfagna, of the European Investment Bank, and Samrawit Ayele, CRO Specialist at Precis, both alumnae of the IMT School. The meeting will conclude with a question-and-answer session open to the public.

The event will be held in English at the Cappella Guinigi on the San Francesco Campus and will also be available online. A simultaneous translation service into Italian will also be provided.
