Call for Applications for Two Scholars at Risk Fellowships

The call provides for: 

• 1 Fondazione CR Lucca SAR Fellowship for Women Scholars, reserved for a foreign woman scholar in a situation of risk; 
• 1 Fondazione CR Lucca SAR Fellowship, open to foreign scholars in situations of risk, with no gender restriction. 

Both fellowships are residential and will take place at the IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca.

• Duration: 12 months
• Total gross annual amount: EUR 37,300 for each fellowship 
• Accommodation: in an IMT School residence located in the historic city centre of Lucca, Tuscany, Italy 
• Travel expenses reimbursement: up to EUR 1,500 for each fellowship recipient 
• Support for research visa, residence permit and registration with the Regional Health Service: up to a maximum of EUR 2,339 

Fellowship recipients will have access to the School’s scientific, bibliographic and training resources and will be supported by an academic tutor and a dedicated mentoring service. The fellowship does not constitute an employment or para-subordinate employment relationship with the IMT School.

Applicants must: 

• be foreign nationals; 
• be in a situation of risk, as defined in the full call; 
• hold a PhD degree, be enrolled in a PhD programme, or have carried out at least two years of documented post-graduate research activity; 
• have a research profile consistent with the scientific areas of the IMT School, or with related/interdisciplinary fields; 
• have a good knowledge of English, both spoken and written. 

Particular consideration will be given to applications from scholars affected by the exceptionally grave situation in the Gaza Strip and in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, as specified in the full call.

Applicants should have a research profile consistent with the scientific areas of the IMT School, including: 

Economics; Management and Organization; Cultural Heritage; Art History; Contemporary History; Archaeology; Philosophy; Cultural Heritage Law; Cognitive Neuroscience; Psychology; Computational Mechanics; Statistical Physics; Computer Science; Automation Engineering; Cybersecurity; Political Science. 

Applications in related or interdisciplinary fields may also be considered, provided they are consistent with the research lines developed at the IMT School.
